Strawberry Ridge Farm offers a wide variety of both white and naturally colored Corriedale fleeces. Though used for many different fiber arts, our fleeces are especially desirable for handspinning.

Our flock consists primarily of a mixture of purebred Corriedales and Corriedale/Romney cross. Our adult sheep wear jackets nine months of the year to assure clean and burr-free wool and, in the case of the colored sheep, that minimal sun bleaching occurs. The lambs which we will keep for our flock are also jacketed, typically by three months of age. The jackets do not cause the Corriedale wool to felt or fray.

We practice sustainable pasture management, rotating the flock to new pastures to promote the health and vigor of the forage plants. This assures that the sheep have fresh, green feed for optimal nutrition. It also keeps the wool free of seeds and stickers.

In March, all fleeces are heavily skirted and evaluated by our skirting team. Our fleeces sell for $8.00 per pound. Roving and handspun yarn is also available for purchase.

This year our flock won First and Second Place awards in three categories at the Shepherd's Harvest Festival held on Mother's Day weekend in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.  And, our purebreed corriedale ram, Spinoza, won Grand Champion for colored fleece.
